The East Side Fire Department is located in East Baton Rouge Parish. Established in 1976, East Side serves an area of 8 square miles with a population of 18,000. 

East Side Fire Department is comprised of 9 career and 20 volunteer firefighters responding from two stations.  

Station 91, opened in 1995, serves the northern part of the district and is located at 15094 Old Hammond Hwy.  
It also houses the administrative offices for the day-to-day operations of the department.

Station 92, opened in 2007,  serves the southern part of the district and is located at 17505 S. Harrell's Ferry Rd.

We responded to 1438 calls in 2006 and 1448 calls in 2007.

Our Mission

All members of this department guarantee to the residents and visitors of East Side Fire Protection District No. 5 that we will provide dependable and professional service in a responsive fashion while showing care and compassion for those in need. We will do our best to rapidly and professionally mitigate all fire, rescue, medical care and hazardous material incidents and to protect lives, property and the environment through meticulous training, disaster preparedness, fire prevention and community education programs.

The members of this fire department, working together, will provide a professional and caring environment that is fair, honest, ethical and treats all individuals with respect and dignity;

Members will be supportive and responsive to the needs of both this fire department and community in a loyal, ethical and professional manner;
