EAST SIDE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Services We Provide
Reactive Services
Unexpected emergencies such as structure fires, grass and trash fires, rescues, and
emergency medical incidents are handled by skilled, well-trained crews supplied with
state-of-the art equipment and apparatus. East Side's crews are trained in fire
suppression, emergency first-aid with defibrillation, vehicle extrication, confined space
rescue, high-angle rope rescue and dive rescue/recovery.
Proactive Services
Fire prevention activities include public education in such areas as emergency medical
care, CPR, fire extinguisher use, home fire safety, wildland fire safety, and proper use
of the 911 emergency telephone number. Residents and businesses also receive public
education, information, fire code compliance, fire inspection, and arson investigation as
a result of fire prevention activities. Our fire prevention department also participates
in the planning process of commercial structures to reduce future risks of fire through
the use of building plan review. Residential fire safety surveys are conducted upon
request.
